The Poetry of Philip Kelley

I'm 39 years old, from Indiana, USA.

The dark of night pushed the light of the day
As a shoulder against a rock rolls the weight away
Thoughts of her slowly invade my sleep
I dream she tells me I am hers to keep
Her eyes they bewitch me, her hair soft as silk thread
Dreams of her remain and dance in my head
We embrace as lovers and move to become one
I know if I awake the act will be done
Sleeping I lay and fight the day with my might
To dream this dream in unending night

The snow has fallen on the world like a soft white hush
quiet surrounds the place that is has been found by us
we move to the fire, it's light on our face
let me take a moment to forever remember this place
the place where you lay, the look in your eyes
the love that we share with no compromise
i lean to kiss you and make your thoughts mine
may the snow stay forever in this place and time
